Born in the 80's

The 80's fashion was kind of scary, but there is a trend we can still
rescue: the PEPLUM.  If you don't have a curvy body this trend is
perfect for you.  The distinctive flirty ruffle will create a flattering
silhouette that you will love.  So there is plenty of options to choose
among dresses, blouses, jackets and skirts.  Although the peplum
trend was big on spring, it seems like will be sticking around for the
rest of the year.

An 80's trendy flashback

Bow at First Sight

The past weekend I went shopping with my sister and cousin. Walking through stores, while in JCPenney, this Decree metal bow ring caught my eye and it was the last one.  Of course I bought it and also paint my nails Zin Red, from Sally Hansen, just to show off my fave new ring. There is something so feminine and timeless about bows that I adore.

Hair bows became popular during the Victorian Era (ruled by Queen Victoria, 1837-1901) and the Edwardian Era (ruled by King Edward VII, 1901-1910).  The Victorian woman seldom wore a bow in her hair, but if she did it was usually black or another modest color and in small size.  The Edwardian Era was more fanciful and a woman would wear bows of different colors and sizes, some being quite large compared to today bows.  During this Era, manny upperclass women and little girls wore hair bows as fashion accessories.

Still today, bows are a trendy item and we are lucky we can wear them not just in the hair.  Blouses, necklaces, rings, purses, shoes are just few of the items that we can wear to complement our style.

Where is your bow?
