Next Stop: The Oscars!!!

TEAM VIOLA :) FINALLY THE HELP!!!

Yesterday, the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.  Finally The Help won three awards.
The Help, which came into the show with four nominations, more than any other film, won best movie.  Also earned its star Viola Davis the SAG award for best actress, while Octavia Spencer was named top supporting actress. They both played maids who face discrimination in the film set in Mississippi during the 1960s.
Since the moment I saw the movie I knew it will be a big contender in the award season.  Even though Octavia was the lucky one at The Golden Globes, Viola was recognized these time for her great performance and I am so happy for her.  She deserve it.  I know Meryl Streep is a veteran, and I admire the diversity of roles she had played through out her career, but I am kind of tired of she always winning best actress.  So, it’s the time of others to shine.  Let’s wait for The Oscars to see what happens…

PATTERNING FOR MISS PIGGY

Last Thursday aired the third episode of “Project Runway All-Stars”, which Ie because gave a second chance to contestants, of all the eight previous seasons, to win their big opportunity in the fashion industry.

The challenge was to design a cocktail dress for the glamourous Miss Piggy to wear on the red carpet while promoting "The Muppets," a film that was released last Thanksgiving. With a budget of $150 and one day the designers faced the challenge to create the dress.

Who doesn't remember Miss Piggy and her fashionable outfits throughout her more than 30 years international career?  She demonstrates that you don't need to be a human to be a fashion icon in the Hollywood scene.

Michael Costello, contestant of season 8 who was very excited to meet the blond and blue eyes celebrity pig, was the winner of the challenge. With a strapless dress, accessorized with black leather gloves and a black hat with large loops, Costello pleased the demanding piglet whom he described as fashion's dream client.

Why start blogging?

I´ve always liked the idea of start a blog, but I was too lazy to start one.  Although that remains the same, one of my 2012 resolutions is to be more proactive towards the things that makes me happy.  And, one of that things is write -since I have a bachelor degree in journalism- about lifestyle, fashion, pop culture, entertainment, etc.  So let´s see if this is the beginning of a new way to express myself and share my point of view of everything that caught my attention!
